Ruby Joy Sprang

White River Jct., VT – Ruby Joy Sprang, 55, died Friday March 29th after a long battle with cancer.

Ruby was born September 8, 1957 in Spokane, WA a daughter of Peter and Doris (Hackenberg) Sprang. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1975 and later from Stephens College in Columbia, MO where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. After college Ruby enjoyed travelling both throughout the United States and around the world, including time in Japan and Germany. Ruby has worked at the Quechee Inn for over twenty years.

She had a love for animals and creatures of all kinds, especially cats. She also enjoyed gardening and volunteering at the Bugbee Senior Center in White River Jct. She was a talented artist who mostly worked in Pen and Ink and had several art shows at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms.

She is survived by her parents, Pete and Doris Sprang of White River Jct.; two sisters, Miranda Sprang of White River Jct. and Jean Sprang of Winona, MN; a brother Michael Sprang and his wife Cheryl of West Hartford, VT and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. on Thursday April 4th from 6-8PM. All are welcome to attend a celebration of her life Sunday April 7th at 1PM at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms.
