IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roy Walter
Munstermann
October 24, 1942 – January 23, 2021
Windsor, Vermont - Roy Walter Munstermann of Windsor, Vermont died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 23, 2021. He was born on October 24, 1942, to George and Violet (Sampson) Munstermann in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 9 months, he went to live with his aunt and uncle, Eleanor and Thomas Buckley, who raised him as their own for the rest of their lives. They moved to Croyden, New Hampshire where he attended grade school and later graduated from Newport Highschool. In high school, Roy set the long jump record for the state of New Hampshire while competing in Track and Field. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Navy as a Seabee and served proudly on the USS Sarsfield.
Roy loved life and had many passions, but the most important thing was that his experiences and the things he loved happened with the people he loved. So whether he was traveling, watching Nascar, the Patriots, or the Red Sox, enjoying a good meal, bowling, going to the casino, or playing music, he enjoyed it all the more with his family and friends around him. He and Laura's cruise trips and the trips to California to visit his "Bro," Richie Buckley created cherished memories. Up until recently, he would often bring joy through performing with his guitar and song to the local community.
Roy is survived by his wife and partner of forty-seven years, Laura A. Munstermann; five children, Ann Luchka and husband Don, Tami Simino and husband Joe Joe, Sheila Richards and fiancé Bruce Goodell, Tammy Kozak, and Travis Olmsted Sr; his brother Richie Buckley; fourteen grandchildren; his canine Pug friend, Angel; many great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt and uncle; a daughter, Sandra Geronimo; and his canine Pug friend, Buddy.
