Hartland, VT- Roy Allen Lutter, 94, died Sunday, October 6, 2024, at home surrounded by his family.

Roy was born May 2, 1930, in Corona, NY a son of Walter and May (McNicol) Lutter. He graduated from high school in 1948 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Columbia University. Roy was married to Ann Cane, from Saranac Lake, NY, in the early 1950's. They initially made their home in Jackson Heights, NY., later moving to Williston Park and then Syosset on Long Island. For many years he worked as an insurance broker on Wall Street before taking a position at A.B. Gile in Hanover, NH in 1976 after the family decided to make their home in Hartland, Vt.

Roy enjoyed the beach and skiing in his younger years. In his later years he was an avid golfer, kept his mind sharp working on the New York Times Crossword puzzles or reading a good book.

A devoted and much-loved husband, father and grandfather, Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Lutter, and a brother, James Irwin. He is survived by two daughters Andi Lutter of Hartland and Hillie Lutter of Stow, ME; and two grandchildren Cole Lutter of Hartland and Keegan Julian of Norwich, VT.
