WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT- Ross A. Dwyer, 69, passed away recently at his home following a brief illness. He was born to Norman and Geraldine (Goodwin) Dwyer on July 17, 1952 in Newport, VT. His family lived in Newport until early in his graded school years and then they moved to the Upper Valley area. He attended Sharon Graded School and Hartford schools. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1970. He attended UVM for a short period before deciding that college life was not for him. He worked for various employers in the Upper Valley and travelled across the United States for a few years.
He joined the Coast Guard in May 1972. Upon his discharge in October 1984, he returned to the Upper Valley. Shortly after returning he went to work at Dartmouth College. He started his career there in Grounds and Maintenance and later moved to Stores and Supplies. He retired in 2007. Following retirement he continued his lifelong passion of riding his Harley Davidson and collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia from all of his travels on his motorcycle.
Ross is survived by his sister, Rachel Blanchard and her husband, Rick; their son, Kris and his wife, Jane, and their sons Ben and Sam, of Reading, VT; son, Kevin, and his children Alex, Abby and Aiden, of Proctorsville, VT. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Dwyer of Jupiter, Florida; his brother, Ricky Dwyer and his wife Kendra, and his daughter, Seayra Gilman, and her husband, Matt, of Bethel, VT; his nephew, Brian Mack and his significant other, Donna Hatin, of Essex Junction, VT, He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Geraldine Dwyer; his sister, Roberta Mack and her husband, Bradley; and his nephew, Hunter Dwyer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sharon, VT. Condolences to his family may be expressed in an online guestbook found at www.knightfuneralhomes.com .
