Rose Marie
Temple
February 27, 1940 – November 1, 2018
Rose Marie Temple,78, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Cedar Hill in Windsor, VT with her family at her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Rose was born in Hanover New Hampshire to Charles and Marie Mckenney, on February 27, 1940. She attended Hartford high school, where she was very active in the band and at many games ,as a majorette. It was there that she met her husband Richard Temple. Rose and Dick were married on October 18, 1958. They just recently celebrated 60 years. They moved into a home in White River Junction, where they lived for a couple decades, raising their two boys, Michael and Patrick. It was a dream to have her oldest brother build her a custom house with plenty of land to live out their lives, as well as welcoming friends and relatives. They built that home and life close by other relatives on Center of town road in White River. The home held wide-range views of the valley and frequent visits from many animals, including deer and an occasional bear. Rose was respected and known for her work in the business end of automotive dealerships. She worked over two decades for Charlie Keltons, in Hartford Vermont. Later she worked for some time at Miller auto. She finished up her working career at DHMC, working behind the scenes, doing accounting work at the Hitchcock business offices, where she retired in 2008. Rose loved to travel, and would love to visit each year Old Orchard Beach and earlier in life she summered at their camp on Lake Champlain. Her oldest son had lived in many special locations around the country, that afforded her the ability to visit Michael and his family, very much looking forward to each opportunity. When not off visiting their family, Michael and his family would also drop in each year for a much-awaited visit. Rose loved to gather for a get together or a family function. Since her mom died, Rose honored her wishes to continue the gatherings, with the annual family reunion. Rose would take great pride in making sure everyone was enjoying themselves and even inviting in special guests that she felt her relatives may enjoy visiting with. Rose was a life long parishioner of Saint Anthony's Parish in WRJ. She was active in making dozens of mittens and scarves for their annual Christmas bazaars. Rose was always helping out others in need. It came in many visits to her brothers and families to add support, a visit and a helping hand, when one of them was ill, or needed anything. Usually she would bring along a loaf or two of her famous banana bread. Rose loved to watch her local grandson Zach and his friends play various sports throughout the years. On Saturdays she often would take a car full of kids herself to local ball games, only to be followed by a trip to McDonald's for all , or an ice cream at fore u to hit the spot. Rose loved all animals and at one point had three dogs and two cats all at once. She truly surrounded herself with her fur babies and often was heard telling tales of them. Rose loved all New England sports, but especially loved the New England Patriots and Tom Brady. Rose had a deep love for family, the values, the coming together as one, as well as looking out for each other in the many ways, she lived that. She especially loved her two grandsons, Zach and Alex. She once said "you just don't understand how special it is having a grandchild ". Rose leaves her husband of 60 years, Richard of White River Junction.
