South Royalton, VT- Ronald P. Darling, Sr., 54, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT.

Ron was born April 15, 1963 in Randolph a son of Pearley and Madelyn Rose (Moses) Darling. He attended Hartford High School leaving to work in the family lumber business, Darling Lumber in White River Junction, VT. He was married to Heidi Follensbee August 9, 1986. They made their home in East Bethel, VT. He worked in the family business as a logger until he injured himself and could no longer work.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish; he was a talented mechanic but truly loved to do auto body work restoring cars to their former beauty. He was also a talented artist who worked in pencil and several types of paint. His truest passion was being a father, spending time with family.

Ron is survived by his wife Heidi Darling of South Royalton; a daughter, Stephanie L. Darling of White River Junction, VT; five sons; Ronald Darling, Jr of Bethel, VT, Kevin Coonce of North Swanzey, NH, Steven Ducharme of West Lebanon, NH, Charles Connelly of Bethel, and John P. Connelly Sr. of Fairlee, VT; several grandchildren; a sister Vicki L. Darling of Bethel, VT; and two brothers, Richard Darling of Albany, NY and Stephen L. Darling of East Ryegate, VT.

A memorial gathering will be held at later date. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements.
