South Reading, VT – Ronald Ralph Kuhnel, 78, died November 18, 2019 at home in South Reading.

He was born November 26, 1940 a son of Ralph and Laura (Shackett) Kuhnel in West Springfield, MA.  Ron graduated from high school in West Springfield where he was later married to Gail Tennien White.  He owned and operated a Sunoco gas station and repair shop in West Springfield until moving to South Reading in 1982.  He then managed the Sandri Sunoco station in Ludlow until retiring in 1994.

Ron was a private and quiet man who will be remembered by many of his clients as man you could trust.  In his free time during his retirement he enjoyed building furniture.

He is survived by his wife, Gail, of South Reading; children Robin Kuhnel of Sprinfield, VT, Randy Kuhnel of Nixa, MO and Tracy Caufield of Marshfield, MO; grandchildren Savana Cole, Marissa Varga and Cody Caufield; a brother Barry Kuhnel of West Springfield, MA and Joyce Fournier of Chicopee, MA.

At Ron's request, there will be no services.
