Ronald A. Harlow
Quechee, VT – Ronald A. Harlow, 71, died Friday May 20, 2016 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
He was born February 12, 1945 in Lebanon, NH a son of Donald and Margaret (Simonds) Harlow. Ron graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1964 before enlisting in the US Navy, serving from 1964 until 1968. He sailed around the world while serving aboard the USS Belmont, visiting many ports including the Mediterranean, Morocco, Turkey and the Dominican Republic. After his military service, Ron returned to White River Jct. and began working as a milk delivery man for Billings Dairy in Wilder. He later began his career as a mail handler at the US Postal Service Processing Plant in White River Jct. where he worked for over thirty years before retiring. Ron was married to Beverleen Langevin on New Year's Day 1982. They lived in White River Jct. for a time before moving to Quechee, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Beverleen died in 2011.
Mr. Harlow was a member of the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ, the Hartford Elks and the American Legion in White River Jct. and served as Past President of the Harlow Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling and also enjoyed bowling on leagues in White River Jct. and Lebanon. Ron liked buying lottery tickets and had a soft spot for Pomeranians.
He was predeceased by his wife Beverleen, a half brother Richard Harlow and a step daughter Dolores Langevin.
Ron is survived by his sister Margaret (Peggy) McDerment of Hartford, VT and step daughters Denise Brooks of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dianne Dubey of Groton, MA, Donna Catania of Rocky Hill, CT, Dale Langevin of Tallahassee, FL, Dorothy Hook of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Deborah Cortese of South Windsor, CT and a sister-in-law Beverlie Harlow of White River Jct.
A visitation will be held Tuesday May 24th from 1-3PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A funeral service will follow at 3PM at the funeral home.
