Ronald P. Bebeau

WILDER, VT — Ronald P. Bebeau, 82, died Sunday, September 6, 2026, at his home in Wilder following a lengthy illness.

Ron was born September 25, 1943, at home in Wilder, where he lived all of his life. A talented athlete, he participated in baseball, basketball, and football before graduating from Hartford High School with the Class of 1962. Following high school, he attended Wentworth Institute.

In January 1965, Ron was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the 1st Air Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War. During his military service, he wed his high school sweetheart, Carol Grenon, on August 20, 1966, at St. Anthony’s Church in White River Junction.

Following his honorable discharge in 1967, Ron returned home to civilian life and dedicated his entire career to the building supply industry as a sales representative. He began at the Green Mountain Box Company in White River Junction, which later became CDF Building Products, serving the company faithfully for 35 years until its closing. He later brought his expertise to Dorsey Millworks based in Albany, NY, and Cleary Millwork in Rocky Hill, CT.

Ron held a deep love for his family and the Hartford community. He and Carol welcomed their sons, Michael in 1967 and Todd in 1969. Ron shared his love of sports with his boys—always happy to practice grounders, help coach, and attend all of their games. This dedication shifted to the next generation; he loved cheering on his grandson’s sporting events and was just as happy switching gears to follow his granddaughter’s horse shows, musicals, and talent shows. He was also a devoted fixture at the Hartford Boys' Varsity Hockey games, where he proudly watched Todd coach for the past 32 years.

Ron was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fly-fishing at the Meccawe Club in Bridgewater. He also spent many memorable days on local rivers and streams with his lifelong friend, Jimmie Woods. Ron also loved being out on the water in his boat. He and Carol loved taking trips up the Connecticut River, and in later years, he spent many family vacations on Crystal Lake and Canaan Street Lake, where he took immense joy in bringing his grandchildren out on rides aboard "Floaty.”

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Doris (Bouchier) Bebeau; his beloved wife, Carol, in 2002; his son, Michael, in 2004; two brothers, Edward, Jr. and Richard Bebeau; and two sisters, Rita Mace and Lucille Butler.

Ron leaves behind his family: son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Louise Bebeau of Hartford, VT; two sisters, Dorothy (Donald) Langley of Lebanon, NH, and Joyce (Louie) Napolitano of Whitehouse, TX; sister-in-law, Nancy LeBrun (Jack) of Lebanon, NH; grandchildren, Nathan Robinson and Hope Bebeau; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express deep gratitude for the care and support from the VA over the years, particularly their Home-Based Primary Care team, and the many in-home caregivers that allowed him to stay in his home to the very end—especially Tim Seaver, Morgan Atkinson, Kim Beebe, and Megan Beaulieu—as well as hospice through VNH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Friends of Wendell A. Barwood Arena at 1362 Christian Street, White River Junction, VT 05001.

Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, September 11 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. The family will hold a private burial ceremony the following day.
