Obituary
Wilder, VT- Roland J. Bellavance, 82, died Monday morning, April 4, 2016 at his home in Wilder, surrounded by his family.
Roland was born December 16, 1933 in East Hardwick, VT a son of Napoleon and Clardera Bellavance. When he was young his family moved to Lebanon, NH where Roland graduated from Lebanon High School. In 1954 he joined the Army and served his country in Korea and Japan. Upon his Honorable Discharge Roland returned to Lebanon and went to work for IGA as a produce clerk. He worked in several area stores including Wilder, Lebanon, Springfield, VT, Claremont, NH, Bellows Falls, VT and Keene, NH. Roland was married to the love of his life Barbara LaBelle on June 8, 1957 in Lebanon, NH and they have made their home in Wilder since.
In 1980 Roland went to work for White River Paper Co. until 1985 when he became a co-owner of Upper Valley Produce where he worked until retiring in 1999.
Roland is a former member of the Hartford Elks BPOE #1541. He loved bowling and was on leagues in Hanover, Lebanon, and White River Junction. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to spend time in the woods hunting or just walking.
Roland is predeceased by a grandson, Matt; siblings, Argenar, Gerald, Julian, Ferdinand and John.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of Wilder; sons Jason of Norwich, Anthony of Wilder; daughters, Debra Bellavance Tripp of Quechee, Theresa Bayerle-Bellavance of Wilder, and Mary Clifford of Wilder; grandchildren Stephanie, Kayci, Savannah, Chad, Lucas, Ceaira; great-grandson, Brody; brothers, Robert of Berlin, VT, Adrian and Raymond both of Lebanon; sisters Cecile Carr of Lebanon, Margaret Bates of Lyme, NH, Madeline Edwards of Enfield, NH and Pauline Grant of Canaan, NH and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 7 at 11AM at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct.
