Wilder, VT- Roberta Mary Haley, 77, died Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Valley Terrace in Wilder, VT with her husband by her side.

Roberta was born November 19, 1946, a daughter of Franklin and Barbara (Piane) Daggett in Lancaster, NH, where she grew up. Roberta graduated from Lancaster High School in 1964 and attended beauty school in Portland, ME. She worked in a beauty shop in Portland, where she would later meet her future husband, James Haley, who worked next door. They were married on March 1, 1969 in South Portland where they made their home, later moving to Jefferson, NH and Bethlehem, NH. At their home she and Jim would build her a Salon where she could work for herself. Jim later took a position in the Upper Valley, and they moved to White River Junction in 1994. She continued to serve a few clients and mostly family members. Roberta became a nanny and housekeeper for Bill and Jane Stetson. She absolutely loved caring for their children and became part of the family. Roberta and Jim retired in 2013 and moved to Rutland, VT until she needed additional care and they moved to Valley Terrace.

Roberta enjoyed knitting, going outdoors, fishing, camping, and watching ducks. She loved ducks so much that she had an extensive collection of decorative ducks that she adored.

Roberta is survived by her husband Jim Haley of Wilder; a son Neal Haley of Poultney, VT; a grandson, Hunter Haley; three stepdaughters, Dorothy Owen of Topsham, ME, Linda Chandler of Caledonia, MS, Phyllis Jean Coombs of South Portland; a brother, Steven Daggett of Florida; and a sister, Frances Laduke of Whitefield, NH
