Robert J. Trottier, 97, died Saturday morning May 6, 2023, at Harvest Hill in Lebanon, NH.

He was born a son of Arthur and Leda Trottier May 1, 1926, in Wilder, VT, where he grew up and attended school. After his father died when he was thirteen, Bob began working at the Hartford Woolen Mill to help support his family. He joined the US Navy at age 17 to serve in World War II and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington until the end of the war. Mr. Trottier was married to Caroline Trottier June 5, 1948, at St. Anthony Church. Shortly after, they purchased their home on Highland Avenue in West Lebanon where they raised their family of five children and lived the rest of their lives. After attending barber school in Manchester, he began his six-decade career as a barber in Hanover including working at Walt and Ernie's on Old Nugget Alley since 1957. Mr. Trottier purchased the shop in 1981 and retired in 2005 but continued to visit the shop daily for many years. He has been a resident at Harvest Hill in Lebanon for the past two years.

Bob was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in West Lebanon until the church closed, and then joined St. Anthony's Church in White River Junction. He has been a member of Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon since moving to Harvest Hill. He was honored to serve as an usher at church for many years. Bob enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Lake Morey Country Club for several years. He was also a life member and the oldest member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in West Lebanon and a member of the American Legion in Lebanon. Bob loved working in his large garden and took great pride in keeping his lawn meticulous.

He was predeceased by his son John Trottier; brothers, Emmanuel "Pete" and Nova Trottier as well as an infant brother Donat; sisters, Joan Goudreau, Bella Ruel, Eva Trottier and Magella "Midge" Bellavance.

He is survived by his children Robert L Trottier (Gail) of West Lebanon, James Trottier (Jody) of East Thetford, Jayne Hall of West Lebanon, and Teresa Fazio of Claremont; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Wednesday May 10 ^th from 5-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 11 ^th at 9:30AM at the Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon, with burial following in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
