Robert N. Stone, 68, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder, VT after a long illness.

He was born December 13, 1942 in Lebanon, NH. He was raised by his mother Thelma (Bartlett) Smith and father Malcolm J. Smith. He attended the Lebanon schools but left early to go to work. He worked for several companies driving trucks including Bouchean Trucking, Noel Vincent, and Mower's News. He was employed at Dartmouth College for 20 years before leaving due to his failing health. He was married to Marie Grace in West Lebanon, NH April 11, 1964.

Robert enjoyed classic cars, and doing anything with his family.

He is predeceased by a sister Judith Mossey.

He is survived by his wife of Hartford; two sons Wayne Stone of Hartford and David Stone of Williamstown, VT; three grand children Jessie, David and Levi Stone; a brother Malcolm Smith Jr. of South Hadley, MA; and four sisters Louise Grout of Williamstown, Freda Grace of Canaan, NH, Rose Hollis of Enfield, NH and Ann Steller of Orange, NH

Friends may call Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT from 6-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at the funeral home.
