IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert F.
Menzenhauer
October 14, 1949 – December 22, 2024
Brownsville, VT - Robert "Bob" F. Menzenhauer, 75, of West Windsor, VT died on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH after a brief bout with cancer.
Robert was born in Hackensack, NJ on October 14, 1949, to Frederick and Marguerite (Reitze) Menzenhauer. Bob grew up in Oradell, NJ and graduated from River Dell High School. In his high school years, playing baseball was one of his favorite activities.
He moved to the Jersey Shore in the early 70's to the coastal towns of Brielle and Mantoloking Shores where he was an avid fan of boating, fishing, waterskiing and sailing. He took great joy in taking family out for boat rides in the Boston Whaler or Bertram. During that time, he worked for the family's marine hardware business and later at a hardware/paint sundries company. Bob also served on the Brielle Fire Department for many years while residing in Brielle.
In 1987, Bob and his father moved to Brownsville, VT where he lived out his days. He worked in quality control at Luzenac America, Inc. in West Windsor. He took pride in taking care of the family property where he lived and enjoyed operating the various tractors and equipment that kept it well landscaped. His grand nephews particularly enjoyed tractor rides with "Unkie Bobby". He loved playing tennis during the summer and also enjoyed an occasional round of golf with friends. During the winter months, he liked to ski, often skiing with his nephew. Snowmobiling was another favorite activity, going on many rides with family and friends.
Bob enjoyed the company of others and would often make fast friends with his neighbors. Some might say he had the 'gift of gab'. He was very close to his sisters, niece and nephew. He adored his dogs, particularly his Golden Retrievers. When Bob wasn't out on a boat or tractor, he liked to watch the NY Yankees and NY Giants.
He is survived by his sister, Virginia Novick of Brick, NJ; a nephew, Scott Patton and his wife, Robin of Hampton, NJ; a niece, Dyan Patton Earle and her husband Bruce of North Pomfret, VT; and three grand-nephews and one grand-niece, Tyler, Caitlyn, Gregory and Jameson.
He was predeceased in death by his parents and sister, Carol Patton.
