Wilder, VT - Bob Lowery died Monday March 7, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 31, 1932 in Windsor, VT, the son of Raymond T. Lowery and Eva M. Garneau Lowery.
He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 44 years Ruth J. Adams Lowery and his brother William Lowery of Windsor, Vt.
The surviving family includes his four children, Andrea and Larry McKinney, Raymond and Lynn Lowery, Robert Jr. and Dana and Beth Lowery all of Wilder; ten grandchildren , eight great grandchildren, sister Erlene Gentry and family from Quinton, VA, brother Kenneth and Waunita Lowery and family of Hartland, VT, and his loving companion, Joyce Soule, also of Wilder.
He worked for the Boston and Maine Railroad as a yardsman until 1966 and then as an oil burner technician for Bomhower Oil Service and Johnson and Dix. He founded Bob Lowery Heating in the early 1980's until he retired in 1992.
He enjoyed his family and friends, summers on Mascoma Lake, camping, antique cars and puttering in his workshop.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-7pm at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 11AM at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the Mt Olivet Cemetery also in White River Jct.
