Robert A. Leneau Jr., 87, died Saturday, May 20, 2023, at his daughter's home in Perkinsville, VT surrounded by his family.
He was born March 26. 1936 in Burlington, VT a son of Robert and Iola (Ordway) Leneau. Bob's family moved to Windsor when he was a young boy, and he has lived in the area ever since. He graduated from the Windsor High School Class of 1956 before serving in the US Air Force for four years. Following his honorable discharge from the military in 1960, Bob was married to Cindy Silloway, and they made their home in Weathersfield Center, where they raised their two daughters. He began his career as a machinist at Jones & Lamson in Springfield where he worked for many years and later worked at GS Precision in Brattleboro until his retirement in 2000. After Mrs. Leneau died in 1997, Bob met Frieda Veysey, a co-worker at GS Precision. They were married in 1999. Frieda died in 2020.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and used to fish some too. He also enjoyed playing golf, was a scoutmaster for 10 years and a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is predeceased by his wives, Cindy and Frieda; a brother Richard Leneau and a sister, Trena Mark.
Bob leaves his daughters, Holly Superneau of Colchester, VT and Michelle, MacLaughlin of Perkinsville, VT; stepsons Sydney Veysey of Vershire, VT, Keith Veysey of Manchester, NH and Shawn Veysey of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren, four great grandchild; a brother, Wayne Leneau of Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor, VT on Wednesday, May 24th from 9:30AM to 10:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Church at 11AM. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery.
