Hartford, VT - Robert Edward Jackson, 79, died Monday, July 9, 2018 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Bob was born December 8, 1938 in Hanover, NH a son of William and Annie (Ranney) Jackson. He graduated from Hartford High School class of 1958. He went to work at Tip Top Bakery until they shut down production. He worked for a time at the Lebanon, NH Police, before going to work for the Hartford, VT School District until retiring. Robert was married to his high school sweetheart Gail Brown in 1959 they were later divorced in 1962. They where reunited in 1985 and inseparable since marrying April 4, 2018.
Bob was a member of the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a talented singer and guitarist. He enjoyed playing country western and some rock music.
Bob is predeceased by a son Robbie Jackson; two brothers, Kenneth Ranney and Stanley Jackson, Sr.; and a sister Gloria Jackson.
He is survived by his beloved wife Gail Jackson of Hartford; a son Jeff Jackson of RI; two daughters Tawnya Stark of Grantham, NH and Lori Dongas of New Boston, NH; a step son Gary Truell Newport, NH three step-daughters, Diana Nelson of Las Vegas, NV, Terri Ragan of Lyme, NH and Shawna Hotte of Bridport, VT; Numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and a sister Catherine Dudley of Lake City, FL.
Visiting Hours will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT from 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at St. Anthony's Church at 11am.Knight Funeral Home White River Junction
