BRIDGEWATER, VERMONT
Robert J. Howard Sr., 58, formerly of West Hartford, Vermont died Saturday, September 25, 2010 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born September 23, 1952 in Hanover, New Hampshire, the son of John R. and Edith(Fogg)Howard. He attended the Ottauquechee School and graduated from Hartford High School. He went on to receive an associate's degree in agriculture from the Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, Vermont. He spent several years working the family dairy farm before entering the heating technical trade. He worked for numerous heating and propane companies over the years before starting Bob Howard Services in White River Junction in 1999 he continued to work until he was unable to work due to his failing health.
Bob had a passion for life, he enjoyed every moment whether he was working, hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his motorcycle, or snowmobile. He was always there to lend a hand when someone was in need. His loss will leave a gap in the lives of those that knew him.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, and a brother Al Howard.
Bob is survived by: his companion, Melissa Walker of Bridgewater, Vermont; a daughter, Jennifer Hosmer and her husband Rodney Hosmer of Canaan, New Hampshire, two sons, Justin Howard and his wife Serena Best of West Hartford, and Robert Howard Jr. of Holden, Massachusetts; two grandsons, Jack Robert Howard and Owen Robert Hosmer; three sisters, Evelyn Luce of Hartland, Vermont, Norma Flanders of Woodstock, Vermont, and Mary Leonard of Eliot, Maine; and a brother Adam Howard of Thetford, Vermont.
Friends may call Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction from 6-8PM. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
