IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert "Bob"
H. Bettis
August 22, 1944 – August 24, 2024
Robert (Bob) H. Bettis, 80, died peacefully after a short illness on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Jack Bryne Center for Pallaitive Care in Lebanon, NH. Bob was born on August 22, 1944 in Windsor, VT, the only child of the family to be born in Vermont, making him a "true Vermonter".
Bob was the son of Raymond H. Bettis and Anna (Navish) Bettis. He was raised on Summer Street in Hartford Village. He attended Hartford Schools and remained a Hartford resident all his life.
Bob was known for his artistic stonework, his years of raising a family on a farm, his ability to operate equipment such as tractors, and more specifically his talent to 'make magic' with his small grader. Nearest to his heart was making wood-fired maple syrup with his grandson and sharing that syrup with sugarhouse visitors and friends.
Bob and his wife, Judy, traveled the United States in their pickup camper, enjoying the fairs, visiting friends, fishing at his favorite locations and site seeing. Bob was a hard-working, respectful and a humble man; never asking for anything, always willing to help others in need.
Bob is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 60 years, Judith (Burke); Daughter, Vicky (Bettis) Trombly and her husband, Michael; grandsons Tyler and Weston Trombly; Daughter Wendy Nelson and granddaughter Amanda Nelson. Bob is also survived by siblings: Carol (Ralph) Robinson, Patricia (Leonard) Hoisington, Harley (Joanne), Edward ('Cookie'), George (Susan) and many wonderful nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and siblings: Raymond, Mary Parker, Eleanor Betters, Michael, Connie Drew and Catherine Lepine.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services. He would prefer that you celebrate his life in your own way.
Should you choose to do so, an online guest book is available to leave a message of condolence for Bob's family by visiting www.kinghtfuneralhomes.com
In lieu of flowers Bob would have appreciated if donations were made to the North Haverhill Fair Association, P.O. Box 207, North Haverhill, NH 03774 for the benefit of the Maple Museum and the Antique Tractor Events.
