WINDSOR, VT
Robert E. "Bob" Willard, 69, a longtime resident of Windsor passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, October 24 at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center Emergency Department in Windsor.
He was born February 14, 1942 in Windsor the son of Roger L. and Jean (Kelly) Willard. He received his schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1960. He married Leanna Larkin on February 13, 1970 in West Windsor. He was employed as a supervisor at the former Cone Blanchard Machine Tool Company in Windsor for twenty four years. In 1983 he began working at Bryant Grinder Machine Tool in Springfield until 2000. He was most recently employed at Whitman Press in Lebanon until his retirement in 2004.
Bob was an avid golfer and was a longtime member of the John P. Larkin Country Club in Windsor and a longtime member of the Springfield Country Club in Springfield. He also enjoyed bowling. He was fond of spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and an infant brother Richard Willard.
Survivors include his wife Leanna Willard of Windsor, one son, Todd Willard of San Diego, CA, one daughter, Kristin Willard and her spouse, Nathan Hughes of Encinitas, CA, two granddaughters, Sydney Hughes and Celia Hughes, three brothers, Roger L. Willard, Jr. of Denver, CO, Michael Willard of Charlotte, NC and Gary Willard of Coppell, TX, three sisters, Norean Shepherd of Cantley, Quebec, Canada, Terry Dewey of Plainfield, NH and Kelly King of Wilmont, NH, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor on Friday, October 28 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 Noon, with the Rev. Raymond Vaillancourt, Pastor, officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow in the church hall. Committal services will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the John P. Larkin Country Club at PO Box 263, Windsor, VT 05089.
