WINDSOR, VT
Robert J. Walsh, 78, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Sunday, October 2 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct.
He was born June 14, 1938 in Claremont, NH the son of Leo and Anna (McCormick) Walsh. He received his schooling in Windsor and graduated from Windsor High School in 1957 and later attended New York University. Mr. Walsh was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War era. Following his honorable discharge he moved to Manhattan, where he started Bob Walsh Photography and R. Walsh Consultant, and successfully ran for many years. He returned to Windsor in 2000.
He was a member of the Windsor American Legion Post #25 and the Windsor Elks Lodge #1665. He was an active board member for "Windsor On Air", where he was the producer of "Windsor People", for several years. Bob also served on the Windsor Planning Commission. He was fond of photography and horses. He especially enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
Survivors include one cousin, Barbara Burns of West Rutland, and many close friends in the Windsor community as well as in New York City.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 AM at the family lot in St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery in West Rutland. The Rev. Romanus Igwenu, Pastor, will officiate.
A reception for family and friends will follow at the home of John and Nida Tansey at 35 North Main Street in Windsor from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
