Rita D. Batchelor

White River Jct., VT – Rita D. Batchelor, 66, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday morning March 24, 2015.

She was born April 9, 1948 in Lebanon, NH a daughter of Alfred and Lois (Tenney) Grace. Rita spent her youth in Canaan, NH graduating from Mascoma High School. She then moved to Lebanon, where she started her family, and worked at Kleen Laundry. She later moved to Wilder for a time before moving to White River Junction, where she has lived since 1991. Rita worked in housekeeping at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital for 28 years, first in Hanover and then in Lebanon, retiring in 2012.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, listening to her wind chimes and decorating her yard. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of over ten years, Brian Batchelor of White River Jct.; two daughters Cindy Billingham and her husband Charles of Corinth, VT and Heather Rice and her husband Matt of North Hartland, VT; a granddaughter Chelsey Roy and great-grandchildren Grace and Izak; a sister Marie Stone of Hartford, VT; four brothers, Danny Grace, Roger Grace, Alfred Grace and Larry Grace all of Canaan, NH as well as many nieces and nephews.
