East Thetford- Richard Christopher Smialek, 37, of East Thetford died unexpectedly on Saturday February 18 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
He was born on June 1, 1974 in Barberton, OH the son of Richard A Smialek and Sandra L. Turchi. He graduated from McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA and attended Millersville University. He worked as a chef for Simon Pierce in West Chester, PA before moving to Vermont.
He loved skateboarding, music, gardening, tattoos, video games, movies, and target shooting with his fiancé's son Josh. He was a caring and loving father and enjoyed spending time with his children and his fiancé's children.
Richard is predeceased by his Aunt and Uncle Yolanda and Albert Marchetto and his Aunt Yvonne Troilo
He leaves behind his mother Sandra L. Turchi-Dooley and her husband John of Lancaster, PA, his father, Dr. Richard Smialek of Dublin, OH, his fiancé, Melissa Fields and her children Joseph, Joshua, Jordyn, and Jada Lynn all of East Thetford, VT, three daughters Jazmyne Smialek, of Lancaster, PA, Tamara and Autumn Smialek, both of Boyertown, PA, a son Leahm Smialek of Boyertown, PA, a step brother, John Dooley and a step sister, Cassandra Kolmansberger.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday February 22, at 6PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT. Burial will take place in the Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken, PA Saturday February 25 at 10AM. The Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT has been entrusted with local arrangements.
