Obituary

West Windsor, VT – Richard "Dick" Loren Webster, 73, died Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home in West Windsor , VT. He was born May 3, 1944 in Windsor , VT the son of Loren R. and Venita (Kelly) Webster. Richard attended schools in Brownsville and graduated from Windsor High School in 1962. He continued his education with many College courses during his working years.

He served in the US Navy for five years during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968 as a Sonar Technician. Dick played trumpet with his Navy companions and their band was one of the best jazz bands on the ship. Dick held various jobs working and developing Machine Tool Controls which involved training Engineers on how to repair huge machinery owned by Hershey, Rexroth, Bosch, to name a few. During his career with Bosch, Dick traveled and worked all across the continents of North America and Europe. He retired from the Bosch Corporation in 2008 as a Senior Instructor and moved back to West Windsor , VT in 2009.

He was a member of the Vermont Lodge #18 Free and Accepted Masons and the Windsor Coon Club in Windsor , VT , as well as the Hartland Fish and Game Club.

Richard was an avid hunter and enjoyed target shooting. He also enjoyed riding his ATV. In the past five years Dick was proud to have climbed Bald Hill in West Windsor. His memory was excellent which allowed him to tell the "stories" of his working career, exploring the woods and animals as a young boy in West Windsor and with his boys as a family, they enjoyed raising goats.

He is survived by four sons, Spencer P. Webster and his wife, Gillian of Kirkland, WA, Brandon G. Webster and his wife, Bobbi Jo of Mulkeytown, IL, Kurt R. Webster of Carbondale, IL, Corbin M. Webster and his wife, Wendy of Marseilles, IL, fourteen grandchildren, his fiancée, Sherry Barbour of West Windsor, VT, a sister, Ann Lester and her husband Shawn of Plainfield, VT and a niece, Emily Lester McLean also of Plainfield, VT.

Calling hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor , VT , Friday, December 1, from 1PM to 2PM followed immediately by a Masonic service at 2:00PM at the funeral home.

The Knight Funeral Home in Windsor was entrusted with the arrangements.
