Lebanon, New Hampshire – Richard W. Gordon, 78, formerly of New London, NH, died early Tuesday
morning, February 19, at his home in Lebanon, NH. Richard was born November 29, 1935 in the
Bronx, NY, the son of Gilbert and Margaret (O'Connell) Gordon. He grew up in New Hyde Park,
Long Island and attended Chaminade High School. Richard graduated from Brown University in
1957 with a Bachelors Degree in English. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi. After college
he served three years with the US Coast Guard. For a period of time, he worked at IBM and then
later for Honeywell Corp. He married Judith Cushing on September 7, 1968. They made their
home in New York City until 1977, when they moved to New London, NH. Dick tended bar at different businesses in the Lake Sunapee and Upper Valley regions, including the Kedron Valley Inn, Lake Sunapee Yacht Club, and the New London Inn. He was a voracious reader and crossword puzzle devotee who enjoyed swimming and spending time near the water.

He is survived by his wife, Judith, of Lebanon, NH, two daughters, Elizabeth of Hubbardston, MA and Meaghan of Montague, MA, a son, Colin of Seattle, WA, two granddaughters, Kaylee and Kieran, great grandson, Mason, and a sister, Susan Gordon Gleckel of California, MD.

Calling hours will be held Friday evening, February 21, 2014, from 6:00 – 7:00PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT.
