Richard Alan DuMez Jr. ("Dick"), of Enfield, NH passed away on November 4th, 2023, in the family home on Mascoma lake surrounded by loved ones. After a diagnosis of stage four pancreatic cancer, he spent the next four years living a life filled with continued generosity and love before succumbing to the illness.

Dick was born on September 10, 1950, to Richard Alan DuMez Sr. and Elizabeth DuMez nee Elizabeth Ross Miller in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from Phillips Academy Andover in 1968, he attended Lafayette College. Dick spent time in Denver and in Halifax, Nova Scotia before moving to Vermont and living on a commune called The Land with his fellow Baloney Brothers, a like-minded circle of friends. It was here that he met and subsequently married Barbara Kahn in 1976. They share two children.

Dick's great love for and knowledge about food brought him to his first career in the food and beverage industry. It was at his job as the Food and Beverage Manager of the Hanover Inn that Dick met Susan Wheeler whom he married in 1994. Dick found great joy and success in his second career as a real estate agent. He spent many years on the Upper valley Board of Realtors. In 2020 Dick was chosen as the Upper Valley Realtor of the Year followed with the great honor of being selected as the New Hampshire Realtor of the Year. Dick took great pride in the ethics and legality of real estate and donated his time to the New Hampshire Association of Realtors working as a Federal Political Coordinator and a Trustee for the Realtor Political Action Committee.

In 2012 Dick met Kimberley Quirk, becoming committed life partners in 2014 and later marrying in 2020. Kim and Dick's love created a life filled with warmth and happiness that could be felt by family and friends. They shared many interests including cycling, kayaking, and skiing. Dick enjoyed combining his love of cycling with his affinity for giving back to the community with charitable century rides, including the Prouty ride which raised money for cancer research. Dick also brought his love of charity to his work with The Haven as a member of the board since 2018.

Dick was predeceased by his father Richard DuMez Sr. and his mother Elizabeth DuMez nee Elizabeth Ross Miller. He is survived by his brother Robert DuMez and his wife Viki DuMez, his wife Kimberley Quirk and her two sons Lincoln Quirk and Morgan Quirk, as well as his children, Jacob DuMez and his wife Lizzie Lincoln and Leah Boyle and her husband Tommy Boyle. He is also survived by his grandchildren Hannah Boyle, Caeli-Grace Boyle, Aubrey Boyle, Madeline Boyle, Ella Lincoln-DuMez and Zev Lincoln-DuMez.
