Windsor, VT– Richard L. Dudley, Sr., 81, died Saturday December 28, 2019 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

He was born December 28, 1938 in St. Albans, VT a son of Harold and Eleanor Dudley.  Richard grew up in St. Albans where he attended school and was married to Marthan Willey in 1958.  They started a family in St. Albans and later moved to the Upper Valley where he worked as a custodian at the Hartford School District for nearly thirty years.  He also assisted his wife when she owned the Hartford Diner from 1985 until 1995.

Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing when he was younger and also enjoyed watching New England sports teams especially the Boston Bruins and Red Sox.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marthan, in 2009 and his parents, Harold Dudley Sr. and Eleanor Fredette.

Richard leaves a son Richard Dudley Jr. and wife Trudy of Windsor; daughters Penny Hilliker of Windsor and Elsa Henry of Springfield, VT; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, brothers, sisters and many nieces and nephews.

A potluck celebration of life will be held at the White River Jct., Veteran's of Foreign Wars on Sunday January 5, 2020 from Noon to 4PM.  Please bring a dish and your favorite memory of Richard to share.
