Richard C. Wilson

Arizona – Richard C. Wilson, 75, died Thursday August 13th in Sun City, AZ.

He was born in 1939 a son of Clarence and Eva (Stricklin) Wilson in Willimantic, CT. Dick grew up in Connecticut where he attended school and worked on horse farm, he later began a lifelong career as a carpenter.

Dick was married to Elizabeth Bartlett in 1969, they moved to Hartford, VT where they made their home for many years before moving to Charlestown, NH. Betty died in 2007 and Dick later moved to Arizona where he has resided for the past six years.

Dick's true passion in life was his music. He played in many bands both in Connecticut as well as in the Upper Valley including the Twig snappers. After moving to Arizona he continued his love for music by playing in nursing homes and restaurants as well as singing karaoke.

He was predeceased by his wife, Betty; a sister Marie Dowsett; brothers Clarence and Henry Wilson and a step son Andy Hitt.

He leaves his son James Wilson and wife Pam of Claremont, NH; step sons Kevin Hitt of Pennsylvania and Wayne Hitt of FL; grandchildren Emily Hitt, Amber Wilson, Andy Hitt and Jasmine Wilson as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. on Saturday August 29th from 11AM – 12Noon. A memorial service will follow at Noon, with burial in the Hartford Cemetery.
