Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Reginald Sidney Locke on September 19, 2018.

Reggie was born on July 6, 1936 in Woodsville, NH as the oldest child of Ralph and Virginia (Renfrew) Locke.   He grew up in St Johnsbury, VT where he attended St Johnsbury Trade School.  After graduation, he joined the National Guard and later enlisted in the Air Force.  Upon his discharge, he went to work at the VA Hospital in White River Jct, VT as an Anesthesia Technician.  While there he met and married Marjorie (Dudley) Jones on September 11, 1970, a second marriage for both.  In 1977, they moved to Tucson to escape the cold and enjoy their retirement years.

Reggie had many hobbies and was especially talented with woodworking.  He was happiest when serving others and volunteered countless hours with the Boy Scouts of America, VA Volunteer Program, and the LDS Bishop's Storehouse.  For over 20 years he was a volunteer monitor at Booth-Fickett Magnet School.  As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he also served in various church callings throughout his life.  He loved spending time with friends and family and no one could ever leave his home hungry.  He was the heart and soul of his family, kind and thoughtful, and funny without ever trying to be.  His mischievous smile and generous spirit will be greatly missed.

Reginald is survived by his wife, Marge; his children Kenneth (Katie) Jones of Indianapolis, and Deborah (Michael) Conn of Tucson; brother Wesley (Elizabeth) Locke and sister Gloria (Vernon) Moyse, both of Vermont.  He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Michael Jones, Gregory (Bethany) Jones, Kathryn Jones, Stephen (Candace) Lucas, and Stephanie Lucas; 10 great-grandchildren, and 22 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his step-son Lawrence Jones, sister Theresa Locke, brother Raymond Locke, as well as his parents.

Funeral services will be held at Bring's Broadway Chapel in Tucson.  A military graveside service will take place at Hartford Cemetery in Vermont, where he will be interred.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
