Raymond Eugene Swift, 67, died Saturday, September 17, 2022, at home with his family.

He was born August 13, 1955, in Hanover, NH a son of Denzil and Sylvia (DeGoosh) Swift. Raymond grew up in Norwich where he lived and farmed all of his life. He graduated from Hanover High School in 1973 where he was on the baseball team all four years. After graduating he continued farming including as the herdsman of a 400 head dairy farm at one time. Later, as making a living on a small dairy farm in Vermont became harder, Raymond downsized the farm and began working for Hanover Public works. He gave 27 years of service to the town before retiring at the age of 60. Raymond was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Conrad October 24, 2009.

Most of all, Raymond loved farming but he also enjoyed sports both playing sports, including men's league baseball as well as watching sports including Dartmouth teams and his beloved Boston Red Sox. He also loved hunting, ox and pony pulling, and had a pair of Holstein steers he pulled with. Raymond always looked forward to the Tunbridge Fair each and every year.

He was predeceased by his father, Denzil, stepson, Daniel and mother-in-law, Linda Conrad.

Raymond leaves his wife, Dorothy of Norwich; children, Kristina Aldrich (Alden) of Enfield, Michael Swift of Corinth, Jason Swift (Charlotte) of West Haven, VT, and Joshua Swift (Barbara) of Norwich; step-children, Joshua Kingsbury (Stacey) of White River Jct., Jeremy Kingsbury of Bradford, Sandra Josler (Doug) of White River Jct.; grandchildren, Aiden, Alex, Bailey, Darby, Kyleigh, Morgan, Tanner, Olin, Kellen, Emma and Nora; mother, Sylvia Swift of White River Jct.; sisters, Karen Pelletier (Tom) of Lebanon, and Kathy Hemenway (Steve) of Lebanon.

A visitation will be held Thursday, September 22 ^nd from 6-8PM at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. A funeral service will be held at the South Strafford Unitarian-Universalist Church Saturday, September 24 ^th at 2PM with burial following in the Evergreen Cemetery also in South Strafford. All are invited to a reception following the service.
