White River Jct., VT- Ralph Piontek, 68, died April 30, 2021 in White River Jct., Vermont. Ralph was born and raised in Deer Park, NY. He attended Deer Park Elementary, Deer Park High School, Paul Smith's College, and SUNY School of Environmental Science & Forestry where he got a Bachelor of Science in Wood Products Engineering.
In 1982 he married Carol Vredenburgh, they had one daughter, Emma Piontek in 1994, and divorced in 1999. After a long period of employment in the aircraft industry in New York, Ralph realized his dream of becoming a master furniture maker at Dana Robes Shaker Furniture in Enfield, New Hampshire. He moved to Lyme, New Hampshire and started working at Dana Robes in 1994 until its closure in 2007.
In addition to making fine furniture, he greatly enjoyed teaching and sharing his skills with others through the furniture-building workshops at Dana Robes. He later went on to work at Trumbull-Nelson Construction for a number of years. Ralph always took pride in his work and found great satisfaction through woodworking and sharing his craft with others. He always brought a high level of craftsmanship and care to everything he worked on. A quiet, gentle, and funny person, Ralph enjoyed reading, playing his guitar, nature, hiking, skiing, travel, swing dancing and live music.

The family would like to thank these organizations as well as the Lyme Police Department and the kindness of Scott Veracka and his family.
