Obituary

Phyllis J. Legac, 79, a former resident of Brownsville and a current resident of Ballston Spa, NY, passed away Thursday morning, April 5 at the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY following a long illness.
She was born March 6, 1933 in Springfield, VT the daughter of Harvey and Dorothy (Herrick) Barr. She received her schooling in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School. She married Paul M. Legac on August 20, 1955 in Sunderland, MA. Mrs. Legac had many hobbies which included gardening and ceramics. She enjoyed decorating her homes. She was fond of traveling around the world where she had visited many foreign countries while visiting friends. She had great interest in learning about different customs.
Phyllis also enjoyed cooking and preparing food for her family and many friends including special meals from foreign lands. She belonged to the Methodist Church Ladies Groups.
She was predeceased by her parents and by three brothers, Warren, David and Paul Barr.
Survivors include her husband of fifty seven years, Paul M. Legac of Ballston Spa, NY, two sons, Jeffery Currie and his wife, Ellen of Baltimore, VT, Francis Legac and his wife Margaret of Gansevoort, NY, one daughter Maureen Berson and her husband, Joseph of Red Creek, NY, one brother, Michael Barr and his wife, Ginny of Reading, VT, two sisters, Janet Senna of Cavendish, VT and Rhonda Barr-Wolters and her husband, Tracy Wolters of Hardwick, VT, one sister in law, Marion Barr of Reading, VT, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor on Monday evening, April 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, April 10 at 11:00 at the Brownsville Methodist Church in Brownsville with the Rev. Connie Moser, officiating. Committal services will follow in the Brownsville Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow back at the church hall.
