Peter G. Sprang
White River Jct., VT – Peter G. Sprang, 92, passed peacefully on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at his home in White River Jct.
Peter was born May 18, 1923 a son of August and Ella Sprang in Germany where he lived until he was 32. Peter was married to Doris Hackenburg in Frankfurt in 1955. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Spokane, WA when Peter took a job as a physicist for Kaiser Aluminum. In 1958 they moved to Connecticut when he began work at Pratt & Whitney. They lived in Connecticut with their children until 1970 when the family purchased the Maple Leaf Motel in White River Jct. Through his usual hard work, Peter restored the motel and added a campground. They operated the motel and campground until 1978 when they sold the business and moved to their home off the Jericho Road in Hartford.
Peter enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and working on his property. Everywhere he lived, Peter worked hard to make his house the best it could be and was very proud of his home.
Peter was predeceased by a daughter Ruby Sprang and a sister Ruth Zobel.
