IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peter L.
"Pete" Jasmin
May 22, 1947 – February 1, 2024
White River Jct., VT – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, brother and grampy, Peter L. "Pete" Jasmin, 76, who died Thursday, February 1, 2024, surrounded by his family at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Peter was born May 22, 1947, in Rutland, VT, a son of Earl and Elizabeth (Seward) Jasmin. He grew up in Rutland until moving to White River Jct. with his mother and stepfather, Betty, and Hugo Melen in the early 1960's. Pete worked with Hugo and his brothers at Adams, McNichol & Melen carving and installing granite cemetery memorials after school and on weekends. He graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1966 and began working full-time with stepfather. Pete was married to Sandi Wills of Lebanon in August of 1968, and they made a home in White River Jct. where they raised their children. During the late 60's he served in the Army Reserves for several years. In 1969 Pete and his brother took their sandblasting skills from the granite shed along with their love of cars and started an autobody shop. Pete continued to work at JAS Autobody until his health no longer allowed him to.
Pete loved classic cars and going to car shows to see them. He especially loved corvettes and owned several throughout his life. In his younger years he enjoyed motorcross and was very involved in his sons racing career as well as co-owner of Jasmin Motorsports for a time. He was an avid New England sports fan, particularly the Boston Red Sox and rarely missed a game. Pete took many cruises with his wife and close friends and also enjoyed playing cards. He always looked forward to his weekend card game with his buddies Dennis, Todd, and Kevin. Pete was also an animal lover and especially loved his cats and dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandi of White River Jct.; son "Toby" Jasmin and daughter Lisa Holmes (Todd) both of White River Jct.; brother Raymond "Toby" Jasmin (Janice) of White River Jct.; grandchildren Alexis Bryan (Alex), Emily Roberts (Daniel) and Nicholas Jasmin; nephews Josh Jasmin (Danielle), Sean Jasmin (Robin) and Christopher Delahanty (Krista).
Peter was predeceased by a sister Barbara "Missy" Jasmin and a brother Earl Jasmin.
A celebration of life for Pete will be held Thursday, February 15th from 4-7PM at Davidson's Restaurant at the Quechee Club. A private committal for family will be held in the spring.
Condolences to Peter's family may be made in an online guestbook at knightfuneralhomes.com.
