Peter Allen Durkee
Lebanon, NH – Peter Allen Durkee, 51, died unexpectedly Monday January 9th at home in Lebanon, NH.
Peter was born April 3, 1960 in Hanover, NH a son of Alfred and Janet (Peterson) Durkee. After graduating from Hartford High School Class of 1979, Peter attended Lyndon State College where he received his Bachelor's degree in communications. He worked as the night auditor at the Super 8 Motel in White River Jct. from 1987 until 2000 and for the past ten years has worked nights as an inventory control specialist at Wal-Mart in West Lebanon.
Peter was an avid reader, and also enjoyed history, especially military history, collecting coins, gaming, movies, genealogy and traveling particularly to visit historic homes. He loved all animals including his dog Scamper and his cats. Most of all Peter enjoyed keeping up with his family's happenings, they will remember him for his giving heart and conscientious nature.
He is survived by his brothers John A. Durkee of White River Jct., VT and Robert A. Durkee of Wilder, VT; sisters Lynn D. Sciortino of Corinth, VT and Elizabeth A. Durkee of Lebanon, NH; several nieces and nephews and a grand nephew.
Calling hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. Thursday from 6-8PM.
