WINDSOR, VT
Peter A. Coleman, Sr., 63, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 10, at the Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor surrounded by his family.
He was born June 2, 1954 Lebanon, NH the son of Winfield and Virginia (Allen) Coleman. He received his schooling in Lebanon and attended Lebanon High School. Peter was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War Era. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Vermont. He married Teresa Temple in Windsor on September 19, 1993. He was employed at the Dorr Woolen Mill in Newport, NH and more recently at Sturm Ruger also in Newport, until becoming disabled.
He was a member of the Claremont VFW and Claremont American Legion Post. He enjoyed wood burning, carpentry, camping, fishing and loved being a volunteer firefighter and especially was fond of spending time with his grandchildren, children and wife.
He was predeceased by his father and one brother, Roger Coleman.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Coleman of Windsor, his mother Virginia Durphey of Windsor, one son, Peter A. Coleman, Jr., and one daughter, Virginia "Ginny" Coleman, both of Newport, VT, one brother, Richard Coleman of Springfield, VT, three sisters, Susan Coleman of Windsor, Nancy Williams of Spencer, VA and Patricia Williams of Windsor, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and longtime best friends, Don and Theresa Kent of Burlington, VT.
A celebration of Peter's life will be held at a later date.
