Perry Irvin Hurd

West Lebanon, NH – Perry Irvin Hurd, 88, died Wednesday February 17 th at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

He was born March 10, 1921 in West Lebanon, NH a son of Franklin and DeEtte (Carpenter) Hurd. He attended school in West Lebanon and then worked as a farm hand, first in Healdville, VT and later for Albert Luce in White River Jct., VT. After farming Perry worked at Blacktop in West Lebanon for over twenty years before retiring. Perry lived in West Lebanon all of his life and could often be found visiting with people on Main street in front of the library.

Perry loved animals especially his dog Buster and fondly remembered his days working with horses on the farm. He was also an avid motorcyclist when he was younger.

He is survived by a sister Norma Benjamin of White River Jct., VT and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers James, Harry and Vance Hurd and three sisters Bertha Negro, Helen Smith and Mildred Crowley.

Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Monday from 10-11AM. A funeral service will follow at 11AM at the funeral home with burial following in the West Lebanon Cemetery.
