Lebanon, New Hampshire-

Pauline Amelia Papineau "Polly", 78 died peacefully Saturday June 16, 2012 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Pauline was born December 20, 1933 in Groveton, NH the daughter of Lawrence E and Mildred H(Smith) Gonyer. She attended the Governor Baxter School for the Deaf on Mackworth Island off the coast of Portland, ME. She worked for thirty years at Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in House Keeping and a nurse's aid.

Pauline was a very dedicated, loyal and sweet wife and mother, a hard worker, peacekeeper and supporter with a gentle smile and an infectious laugh. She enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards at the Lebanon Towers, and decorating for the holidays. But what she truly cherished the most was her very large family.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert Carr in 1980 and second husband Lawrence Papineau in 2005 a son John Carr; a step-son James Papineau; a granddaughter Rhonda Marsh; and nine siblings, Dolly Palmer, Barbara Fish, Russell Gonyer, Natalie Nutting, James Gonyer, Ramona Woodward, Ronald Gonyer, Paul Gonyer and Neil Gonyer.

Pauline leaves behind three daughters, Betty J. Marsh, and Jeanette P. Carr, Sherry L. Papineau; a step-daughter, Pamela Papineau LaBounty; a step-son, Lawrence Papineau, nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn Cronk; three brothers Lawrence Gonyer, Thomas Gonyer and John Gonyer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday June 23rd at 11AM at the West Lebanon Congregational Church in West Lebanon, NH. Burial will take place in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
