Pauline Edith Fair
Wilder, VT – Pauline Edith Fair, 90, died peacefully at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH surrounded by family on Tuesday November 14, 2017.
She was born April 25, 1927 in Hudson, MA the daughter of Ralph and Gertrude (Batchelder) Persons. She married Winford Harold Fair November 4, 1949, they lived in Woodbury for a year before moving to Hartland for a time and then Wilder where they bought a house and made their home for the rest of their lives. Pauline worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor before retiring after over thirty years of service to the company. They enjoyed spending summers at their camp on Nelson Pond in Woodbury, VT and later in Craftsbury on Great Hosmer Pond. After retiring the Fairs spent a few winters in Florida. Mr. Fair died in 2008 and Pauline was able to retain her independence the last several years thanks to the devoted care she received from her nieces Yvonne Rice and Holly George.
Pauline enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and knitting as well as spending time in the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She also enjoyed travelling, whether it be a cross-country motor home trip with her husband, sister and brother-in-law or long rides on back country roads.
She was predeceased by her husband, Winford; sisters Wauneta Lowery, Mildred Steele and Lucille Baker; brother Maurice Persons and nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the Wilson Cemetery in Barre, VT Saturday November 18th at 1PM.
