Hartland, VT — Paul Henry Barbour, 69, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.
Paul was born August 11, 1956, in Hartland, a son of Ralph and Elsie (Robertson) Barbour. He attended the Hartland schools and went on to become a master woodworker. Over the years he worked at Simon Pearce Glassblowing, Tucker Design, and Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
Paul met his soulmate, Sheila Jiles, and they were married on December 4, 1982, at the Silver Lake Chapel in Barnard, VT. They made their home in Hartland, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
A gifted painter, Paul recreated many landscapes, barns, and covered bridges, and some of his artwork was donated to COVER's fundraising auctions. He was also a talented guitarist. Paul was known for greeting everyone with a warm smile, no matter the circumstances.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sheila Barbour, and two brothers, Peter and Curt Barbour.
Paul is survived by two daughters, Joy-El Talbot and her partner Jared of Orono, ME, and Sarah Barbour of Hartland; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Aurora, and Samuel; two sisters, Catherine Craig of Keeseville, NY, and Janet Bunker of Claremont, NH, a brother, Dennis Barbour of Reading, VT; and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Barbour of Windsor and JoAnne Barbour of South Royalton, VT.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Knight Funeral Home in Windsor has been entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be expressed in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com
