Manchester, CT- West Hartford, CT- Rutland, VT – Patrick William Glenn died on Friday, February 27, 2026, peacefully at his home in Rutland, VT. He was 42 years old. Patrick was born on July 21, 1983, in Hartford, CT to David M. Glenn and Sharon Bell (formerly: Glenn; nee: Johnson), attended school at Bolton Center school and Manchester High School.
Pat was deeply proud of his nearly twenty year career as a cellular tower communications technician, a path he followed shortly after high school alongside his mentor and friend Bill. He loved the applied problem-solving of the work, the physical endurance it demanded, and the satisfaction of working with his hands. Driving anywhere with Pat meant hearing about the passing towers he had climbed—each one taller, colder, or windier than the last—stories told with equal parts humor, pride, and exaggeration.
Pat was a fiercely loyal person, especially when it came to those he considered friends and family. His sense of family extended beyond blood, and his devotion was closely tied to how he defined those relationships. He showed love through action, often quietly stepping in when he noticed someone who needed support. He had genuine compassion for others and a natural ability to boost confidence, making people feel steadier simply by knowing he had their back. As a big brother, Pat was a constant presence. He offered everyday advice drawn from his own experiences, sharing how he had handled similar situations rather than telling others what to do. He was always ready with perspective, reassurance, and practical guidance.
Outgoing and gregarious, Pat rarely blended into the background. He filled rooms with loud conversation and long stories, enjoying being at the center of discussion. He could also be incredibly stubborn, holding firmly to his views, especially when it came to all things Irish. Pat had a strong sense of adventure and traveled widely, visiting well over a dozen countries across the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Japan, and Australia. He spent time hiking with friends and exploring new places yet remained a proud New England boy at heart. Growing up skiing in Vermont with his father, brother, and cousins, he became an accomplished skier, and he continued to seek out mountains and snow throughout his life.
Pat will be remembered for his loyalty, his stories, his steadfast care for others, and the way he showed love through action. His presence was large, his support unwavering, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Pat is survived by his father David M. Glenn, Jr. of Bloomfield, CT; his mother Sharon (Johnson) Bell of Manchester CT; and his brother Jonathan H. Glenn of Bloomfield.
Pat always paid life forward. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor his memory by taking someone to lunch who may be struggling with their mental health.
(May your journey be blessed, until we meet on the other side).
Dave, Sharon, Jon
