Patricia Anne Wood passed away on February 22, 2011 at the Alice Peck Day Hospital in Lebanon, NH surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born in Rutland, VT on February 27, 1932, and was the oldest daughter of Denman and Isabelle (Prouty) Davis. Her family lived in North Springfield, VT for many years. She graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, VT, and soon after moved with her mother to White River Jct., VT where she worked as a receptionist in the dental office of Dr. Charles Milne. She married Richard A. Wood in June 1954 at St. Anthony's Church in White River Jct. and was a stay at home mom as she cared for her 5 children over the years.
She was an active member and Eucharistic minister of Holy Redeemer Church in West Lebanon, NH and for many years volunteered on church activities such as Bingo and Christmas Bazaars.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sun and water sports, yearly family camping trips to a lake in Maine, and involved herself with all the activities of her children as they grew up.
At one time, family pets were a cat, a dog, a rabbit, 3 tamed skunks, and a pet crow. She was a member of an active, fun-loving family.
Patricia was predeceased by four of her brothers, Ferris, Donald, George and Clifford.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of 57 years; 5 children: Casey Wood of W. Lebanon, Kim Hoffman of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Caleb Wood of White River Jct., Peter Wood of Canaan, NH, Heather Heriza of Haines, Oregon. She loved her 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and a sister Sheila Nelson of White River Jct., VT
A Mass of Christian Burial will held at St. Anthony's Church, White River Jct. Thursday February 24 at 10:00 AM
A graveside committal will be held later in the spring in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in White River Jct.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions in her name be made to the Nature Conservancy NH Chapter; 22 Bridge Street, Concord, NH 03301
