West Hartford, VT- Patricia Deborah Gillies, 66, died Thursday, September 12, 2024, at home with her family by her side.

Trisha was born April 30, 1958, in Springfield, VT, a daughter of Raymond P. and Hallie (Lasell) Buskey. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1976. Trisha was married to Roger A. Gillies on May 14, 1977, in Hanover, NH. They lived in White River Junction for a time before moving to the home they built in West Hartford. Trisha loved being a mother and taking care of children. She developed this into a home childcare business. While her children were young she babysat and took in all the neighborhood kids of West Hartford. She formed numerous lifelong connections with all who she met. She later started cleaning homes throughout the Upper Valley and had a network of loyal customers. Trisha worked until her health made it too difficult to continue.

Trisha had the gift of conversation and a watchful eye; she always knew what was going on. She enjoyed making pottery, watching classical television, attending her children's sporting events and later her grandchildren's. Trisha loved animals and encouraged her children to raise animals as well. Her favorite animals were pigs and pugs. She had an extensive collection of miniatures and statues. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family and celebrating all the benchmarks of their lives.

Trisha is preceded in death by her parents; a brother Raymond A. Buskey; and niece Emily Buskey.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roger Gillies of West Hartford; son Roger "Roni" Gillies (Hillary) of Canaan, NH; daughter, Jenny Courtemanche (Josh) of West Hartford; four grandchildren, Brayden Gillies, Isabella Courtemanche, Austin Courtemanche, and Devin Gillies; sister, Ann Drinkward of CA; four brothers, John Buskey of OH,  Wilton Buskey (Shannon) of Lebanon, NH, Steve Buskey (Dianne) of Hanover, NH, and Walter Buskey (Jane) of Etna, NH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 4-7pm at Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction. An opportunity to share a story with the group will start at 6:30pm. Condolences may be expressed to Trisha's family in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
