Patricia Taylor Clark, 88, died April 30, 2011 at Valley Terrace, White River Junction, Vermont.
She was born March 11, 1923 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of Lena Moses and Ralph Taylor.
She married Edward Searle Clark on February 7, 1948. They lived in Weston, Massachusetts, Lakewood, New York and Ballwin, Missouri.
Patricia was a wife and mom first. She dearly loved her husband Ed, daughters, Helen and Priscilla, and grandchildren, Sean and Erin. An enthusiastic gardener, Patricia created a stunning English-style garden filled with her favorite flowers, especially roses.
Patricia loved children. She taught at Miss Parker's Nursery School, and the YMCA of Greater St. Louis, Ballwin, Missouri. Many preschoolers learned their ABC's from "Miss Pat".
A "people-person", Patricia was active in the community wherever she lived; as a director of the Women's Community League and a Girl Scout troop leader in Weston, Massachusetts. She served as President of the Warner Home, and was a member of The Crèche of Jamestown, New York, Lakewood Women's Club, Jamestown Garden Club, the WCA Hospital Auxiliary, Lake Carlyle Sailing Association, and Welcome Wagon of Greater St. Louis.
In 1997, Patricia returned to New England to be to be close to family, and in 2003 moved to Valley Terrace, White River Junction, Vermont. She enjoyed music programs, family visits and the children from Willow School. She loved feeding and watching the birds outside her window.
Patricia is survived by daughters Helen C. Norton of Thetford Center, Vermont and Priscilla S. Clark, of North Hampton, New Hampshire, grandchildren Sean Norton and Erin Norton, and her sister Katharine Howell of Bradenton, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, and an infant son.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2PM at Valley Terrace, 2820 Christian Street, White River Junction, VT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upper Valley Humane Society, 300 Old Route 10, Enfield, NH 03748. Knight Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
