Windsor, VT – Patricia May Barrows, a lifelong member of the Windsor community, died on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Mt. Ascutney Hospital. Patricia was born on January 25, 1925, to Horace L. and Eleanor May (Sawin) Pierce above the General Store in Brownsville, VT.  She was married to Stewart H. Barrows in Kentucky just as he was preparing to leave overseas as a young, enlisted man; it was difficult being separated from her new husband immediately, unsure of what the future for them held, however he returned safely and they celebrated 72 years of marriage together before his death. Family connections were always important to Patricia and she cherished weekly Sunday family suppers and holiday gatherings when all would gather in her home to enjoy her excellent cooking. Her carefully tended vegetable garden provided ample food for the family and she taught many family members the value and art of canning, pickling, and freezing the summer harvest to be enjoyed year-round.

She is survived by two children, Jeffrey N. Barrows and partner Paula Vivian of Windsor and Deborah Cameron and husband Barry of The Villages, FL; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Heather (Tyler), Melissa, Michele, Holly (Sean), Elizabeth, and Timothy (Paige); eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stewart H. Barrows; two children, Timothy Barrows and Lisa Vezina; and two siblings, Edson Pierce and Delphine Stratton.

A graveside service will be held at Brownsville Cemetery in May 2023. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society.
