Parker B. Davis Jr. died on December 15, 2020 in Windsor, Vermont with his wife and daughter by his side.
Parker is the son of the late Parker B. Davis, Sr. and Beulah Sherman Davis. Parker born in Malden, Massachusetts on April 11, 1932.
He served in the Navy on the USS Hawkins during the Korean War. After leaving the Navy in 1956, he married the love of his life, Juanita Heath Davis. They were happily married for 64 years. They have four children they raised in Massachusetts.
Parker graduated from Northeastern University and worked at Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, an associate with MIT. He worked there from 1960 to 1994. During that time he worked on the Apollo and Poseidon programs.
Parker had a love for golf and the Boston Lighthouses.
Parker retired to Lillian Alabama in 1994 and at that time he volunteered at the Lillian Fire Department, The Men's Optimist Club and was a membered of Lillian United Methodist Church. He worked as a golf marshal at local golf courses. He enjoyed traveling with his lovely bride, taking trips to Alaska, Europe and a River Boat cruise on the Rhine. Summer months were spent back up in New England with his family.
He moved to Windsor Vermont in 2019 to be closer to his family.
Parker was known for his quick wit and one-liners. His family would refer to them as "Parkerisms."
Parker leaves behind his wife, Juanita, his four children and their spouses Larry and Darlene Davis, Gregg and Rose Davis, Jeff and Joelle Davis and Lynn and Philippe Fortin, 15 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Sandra Jean Davis and brother Linwood Leslie Davis. He will leave behind his two younger brothers, Alan William Davis and his wife Billie Lee and Glenn Sherman Davis and his wife, Debby.
The family would like to pay a special thank you for the care he received at Cedarhill Assistive Living Facility and from the devoted staff at Bayada Hospice. They were invaluable in helping to make his final time with us comfortable and peaceful.
