Oren H. Spooner
Wilder, Vermont- Oren H. Spooner, 93, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder.
He was born January 22, 1917 in Shrewsbury, MA, the son of William and Alice (Morey) Spooner. He attended the Shrewsbury Schools.
He was married to Eleanor Harris, May 31, 1953. He was the owner operator of Spooner Heating, operating throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. In 1979 Mr. Spooner retired and eventually they settled in East Corinth, VT. Mrs. Spooner predeceased him in 1995. He moved to Wilder in 2005 to live with his daughter.
He enjoyed tinkering around his garage and his yard.
He is predeceased by a son David William Spooner, two brothers Frederick and Donald Spooner and a sister Mary Spooner.
He is survived by four sons, Douglas Spooner of Mashpee, MA, Stanley Spooner of Marlboro, NH, Oren A. Spooner of Boston, MA and Glenn Spooner of Croydon, NH; three daughters Penelope Mike of Mill Spring, NC, Ellen Bucci of Derry, NH, and Donna Cross of Wilder, VT, thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
