Quechee, VT-- Norma A. Whitney died on 02-20-2020 at the age of 85 at her home in Quechee, VT. Norma was born and raised in Quechee and was the middle child of Cecil and Lena Adams. Norma started working at age 15 operating a loom at the Dewey Woolen Mill in Quechee. From that time on she worked continually, waitressing at restaurants in Woodstock, as housekeeper for Ray P. Holland of Quechee, owning and operating the Crossroad Store in Quechee, as a bookkeeper at the Woodstock National Bank and as a clerk for C&S Wholesale in White River Jct. Her final place of employment was Jiffy Mart in Quechee which allowed her to go home at lunchtime to check on her Mother, as she was her caregiver for many years. Norma worked until her mid 70's and finally retired due to failing health. She liked to cook, sew, knit and crochet. Her family was always her primary concern.

Norma is survived by her daughter Cynthia, son Dale & wife Alice, two grandchildren, three great-grand children, nieces, nephews and her calico cat, Kit. She was predeceased by her sister, Hazel Isenor and brother, Cecil Adams, Jr.

Cynthia and Dale would like to thank Dr. Barbara Lazar for the exceptional care of (and concern for) our Mother. Barbara was always there when needed and we are eternally grateful for everything she did for Mom and for us. Also thank you to Catherine of the DHMC Geriatric Home Based Practice Community Team and the Hospice Team of the White River Jct. office of VNA.
