Norma Phyllis Freeman
White River Jct., VT – Norma Phyllis Freeman, 91, died Sunday May 30th at her home in White River Jct. surrounded by her family.
She was born December 14, 1918 in Errol, NH a daughter of Curtis and Margaret (Stuart) Ferren. She attended school in Errol where she later married Walter E. Freeman on October 27, 1956. They lived in California for a time before moving to White River Jct. in 1971. Mrs. Freeman worked as a waitress at the Polka Dot Restaurant for a time and then at the William Tally House Restaurant for ten years before retiring. Mr. Freeman died June 26, 2002.
Mrs. Freeman's family is especially thankful for the special gift of three years of devoted care by her grandson Tyler which allowed her to stay at home.
She enjoyed embroidery and quilting especially to make as gifts. She was a wonderful baker and enjoyed sharing her food with others.
She was also predeceased by five brothers Edward Arthur, Norton, Stanley, Wendell and Gary Ferren and five sisters Shirley Hawkins, Madge Hart, Lucy Bachelder, Margaret and Carol Ferren.
She is survived by her two daughters Nancy Henry and her husband Daniel of Plainfield, NH and Patricia Downs and her husband Terel of Palm City, FL; four grandchildren Stephanie Smith, Brian Henry, Ian Downs and Tyler Freeman; five great grandchildren Chase, Dorian and Tressa Downs, Aidan Smith and Asa Henry; three brothers Curtis Ferren of Oregon, Dr. Calvin Ferren of Pasadena, CA and Donald Ferren of Litchfield, NH; a sister Abbie MacArthur of Hooksett, NH as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., VT Thursday June 3rd from 2-4 PM and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday June 4th at the funeral home with Pastors Peter & Sue Heilemann of the Upper Valley Christian Church officiating. Burial following the funeral service in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Randolph, VT.
