IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nicholas A.
Kapusta
December 5, 1992 – July 5, 2021
Walhalla, SC- Nicholas "Nick" A. Kapusta, 28, died unexpectedly Monday, July 5, 2021 at his parent's home in Fairlee, VT. Nick was born December 5, 1992 in Lebanon, NH, a son of John and Christy (Zimmerman) Kapusta. He graduated from Rivendell Academy's class of 2010 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Army where he served honorably in in Alaska for three years as part of the 25th Infantry Division. Following his discharge Nick worked in Monticello, MN for a time before moving back to the Upper Valley, where he worked for Geokon in Lebanon, NH. In 2020 he moved to Walhalla, SC, and worked for Arthrex Manufacturing in Pendleton, SC., nearby his father's family.
Nick loved working on motorcycles and thrived on refurbishing and flipping them for a profit. He was easily able to learn new skills, for his jobs, or for projects he was working on, and enjoyed building high end gaming computers. But his greatest joy was for his rescue dog Monty, a large and energetic pit bull that he adopted. Nick was loyal, and made life-long friends while in the service, remaining close to many, even as they scattered around the country. By nature he was quiet, and more introverted than outgoing, but he enjoyed sparring with his brothers, relaxed get-togethers around bonfires, and will be remembered for his distinctive head-bobbing, hearty chuckle when he was amused. Nick enjoyed spending time with his siblings, especially in recent years as a young adult, and was close to his cousins, even in childhood.
Nick is survived by his father, John Kapusta, and his wife, Michelle, of Walhalla; his mother, Christy Durgin, and her husband, John, of Fairlee; three brothers: Anthony Kapusta of Lebanon, NH, Austin Durgin of Fairlee, VT and Declan Kapusta of Northfield, VT, and two sisters Catherine and Sarah Kapusta both of Walhalla, and paternal grandparents Edward and Marilyn Stack of White River Jct., VT., as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, July 11 at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction from 3-5pm. A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:00pm in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
